"Black Cadence in the Background" is comprised of Jamila Ford and Carol McArthur. They are based in Los Angeles and have lent their voices singing back-up for several artists' live and in-studio projects.

The two have become fixtures on the music scene, providing guest vocals for: Bonnie Pointer, Barry Goldberg’s Soul Riot, Fat Danny & the Hard Tymz, Lee Newman, Abraham Cloud, Nektare, Shari Puorto & the Rhythm Addicts, Artist Robinson, Larry Klein, and Joe Hajek. The pair also regularly perform their own material simply as Black Cadence.
